Terms of Service
Terms for using Geyser Gazette, contributing observations, and receiving alerts.

Service description
Geyser Gazette provides informational maps, eruption records, historical summaries, community observations, webcam context, and optional alert delivery. Reports may be delayed, incomplete, corrected, or inaccurate.
No safety or prediction guarantee
The service is not an emergency system and does not guarantee future eruptions, viewing conditions, access, or personal safety. Follow National Park Service rules, closures, boardwalk requirements, and official guidance at all times.
Accounts and contributions
Users must provide accurate account information, protect their credentials, and submit observations in good faith. Moderators may merge, correct, annotate, reject, or remove submissions to preserve a clear public record. Harassment, impersonation, spam, unlawful content, and attempts to disrupt the service are prohibited.
Optional SMS alerts
SMS enrollment is optional. By actively checking the consent box and verifying a mobile number, the subscriber agrees to receive recurring automated geyser alerts from Geyser Gazette. Message frequency varies according to selected geysers and alert settings, up to 100 messages per month for the standard SMS tier. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.
Consent to SMS messages is not a condition of using the public website, creating a community account, or purchasing an unrelated service.
Discord alerts and paid plans
Paid plans renew until cancelled. Current prices, limits, and included delivery channels are shown before checkout. Billing is processed by Stripe. Access may end when a subscription expires, is cancelled, is refunded, or cannot be renewed.
Availability
Live data, third-party services, cellular networks, internet connections, and volunteer observations can fail or arrive late. Geyser Gazette does not promise uninterrupted operation or delivery of every alert.
Third-party data and media
GeyserTimes data remains subject to the Open Database License. The Yellowstone webcam and other linked services are operated by their respective providers. Geyser Gazette does not claim ownership or operational control of those services.
